The 10 largest European Kitchen Companies

The Nobia Group                            Häcker                                   Mobalpa, France

Many of you have asked me for a ‘top 10 list’ of European kitchen companies. Being that in my mind ‘Top 10’ is not just about company size and/or sales volume (especially in today’s economy…) I’m still working on that list for you and sooner or later it will be posted.
In the mean time, with the help of a good friend (thank you, A.S.), I was able to come up with the list of the largest companies in the European kitchen brands for you.

Bauformat, Germany                      Nobilia, Germany                          Cuisine Schmidt
The difficult part about coming up with such a list is how do you measure size, or I should say – by what parameters. I see, some European companies are actually part of a Group – they own several kitchen brands/factories, not necessarily all in the same country (!). Some manufacture kitchens but also sell retail, through a chain of factory owned stored. They may produce less kitchens, then another company, but if you add their retail sales, to their wholesale figures and then add appliances (manufactured by appliance companies, counters and even labor, the comparison is simply not easy.

Nolte, Germany       Alno Group, Germany         Schüller, Germany           Snaidero Group, Italy

So with the above in mind, the only way to create the list (without going nuts) is really just by total sales figures (Europeans like to use the term – ‘Turnover’). So here is the list:

1. Nobia Group (Sweden) – There are many companies in this group, like Poggenpohl and Pronorm (Germany), HTH (Denmark), Marbodal (Sweden), Sigdal (Norway), EWE (Austria), plus, they also have a retail-network in the group – Magnet (UK).
2. Nobilia (Germany) – one company.
3. Alno GroupAlno, Wellmann, Pino and Impuls (Germany).
4. Cuisine Schmidt (France) – including a retail-network.
5. Häcker (Germany) – one company.
6. Nolte (Germany) – one company.
7. Mobalpa (France) – including a retail-network.
8. Schüller (Germany) – one company.
9. Bauformat Group Bauformat and Burger (Germany).
10. Snaidero Group Snaidero (Italy), Rational (Germany and including retail-networks like Ixina and Cuisine-Plus.

Some intresting facts:

  •  The majority of the companies, in the above list, are from Germany and the Scandinavian countries.  In that part of Europe, the groups (or concerns) are very typical and have been around since before Columbus discovered America… (no joke!).
  • The only Italian company is in the tenth spot – unlike the northern Europeans, in the southern part of Europe, the opposite is more common – smaller companies, privately owned and operated. Even inside Italy, the more south you go, the smaller and more family owned and operated the companies are. With that said, there are a lot more Italian kitchen companies operating and selling kitchens, then there are German and Scandinavian combined…
  • If we only consider single factory sales, without retail sales and/or other companies in the Group, the largest one is Nobilia, from Germany, then  Häcker, Nolte and Schüller, from Germany.
  • This list is not guaranteed, as many companies do not publish their sales figures but is fairly close to reality. Also, the list can change in one day, if one of the groups decides to sell off a factory or two, or in return, to acquire a couple of brands.

Please help… I am between two companies on what kitchen to buy, one sells leicht the other pronorm … Both with iq7 Siemens products, both are coming in around 25.000 pounds one is offering corian the othe Apollo work tops… Can u recommend what German company to go with… Pronorm or leicht? Apollo or corian? Many thanks x

    1. kitchenguy

Hi Lesley – between these two, I’ll go with Leicht. I’m not familiar with Apollo, so I can’t comment on the counters.
      Good luck,

  2. Hussain

    Dear Kitchenguy,
Thanks for the above useful information & help.
Am from Bahrain & am between two companies on what kitchen to buy, one sells Nolte the other sells Battistella International, Italy.
Nolte Manhattan Model (price group 1) with Worktop Silestone (Blanco Capri) will cost me US $ 11,500,
While Battistella with (Shutter front in PVC wrapped foil finish)& solid surface worktop will cost me US $ 11,850.
Which do you advice me to for?
I have other offer from ALNO-WELLMAN which is higher than Nolte by around US$ 5,370, I don’t know is it worth to pay this difference for WELLMAN or not, where I don’t know exactly about the wooden material used by both, will appreciate giving me information about it if you have.
    Regards,
    Hussain

    1. kitchenguy

Hussain – Battistella is a furniture company. I’m not familiar with their kitchen line (if there is indeed one), so I can’t compare the two.
Also, Nolte and Alno are similar in quality and price but both offer various models and w/o more information, it is impossible to convey an opinion…
      Sorry and good luck,

  3. Simon

Kitchen Guy, firstly can I start by saying thank you for this amazing site, it is very unique and refreshing to have an un-biased sond board in effect! To that end I wanted to seek your advice on Leicht vs Beckermann? Do you feel they are of the same quality? we have been wowed by the Leicht showroom but Beckermann is working out about 20% cheapoer hear in the uk and are able to afford handleless- do you believe there is that much difference in quality between the two?

    Many thanks as ever

    1. kitchenguy

Simon – thank you for the kind words.
Both are fine products and if Beckermann is 20% cheaper (plus they have the look you want) – go for it!
      Good luck!

  4. Thomas

Hi Kitchen guy. Looking to install a kitchen, we know the design we want (handle less kitchen) and are opting for German manufacturers. How would you rank the quality of Hacker, Schuller and Pronorm?

Also from your experience would you expect the price range of units only to be similar for these brands or would you expect something like Pronorm to be cheaper?

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!

    1. kitchenguy

Thomas – I would rank them in the order you listed them – Hacker, Schuller and Pronorm.
Regarding the pricing, they each have different level products and so it is not a simple answer… Compare ‘apples to apples’.
      Good luck!

  5. Kicker44

    Hi Kitchenguy,
I’m doing a presentation for my university and I need some information about kitchen producer/manufacturer. Is there an actual list available? Or could you tell me the largest kitchen companies of the world? That would be great!

    Thanks, Kickers44

    1. Kicker44

      Hi Kitchenguy,
Forgot to say your website is the best one I found!

    2. kitchenguy

Kicker – the list is on the right hand side of the page… 🙂
For the largest companies, see my post on the subject. It could have changed a bit, since then, but it is more or less accurate.
      Good luck!
      kitchenguy

      1. Kicker44

Thanks for your reply, but I meant a list with the topic “The 10 largest kitchen companies of the world” 😀 the lists on the right site are separated in countries, aren`t they? If I`m just too blind, could you send me the link, please 😉

        1. kitchenguy

Kicker – you’re not blind, just have no patience to read my entire message… 🙂 I gave you a link to my post on the subject. Here is is again (click on this link…). It could have changed a bit, since then, but it is more or less accurate.

    Hi Kitchen Guy,

My name is Mike and I am intrested to know about the quality of Fagor kitchen and its price point also their white goods such as hob, hood and microwave. Appreicate your reply.
    Rgds Mike

    1. kitchenguy

Mike – Fagor appliances are good quality, but more of a ‘price point’ product.

    2. anurag

      hi kitchen guy,
i just wanted to know which is the best product between hacker & poggenpohl, as i am finding poggenpohl expensive then hacker but i can manage it but really wanted to know is there a huge difference between quality, finish and durability in both product?
waiting for you reply so that i can take the call.

      1. kitchenguy

        Anurag – very similar quality.

  7. Ankit modi

    Hello kitchen guy

I want to have an European kitchen installed at my house but only 2 companies are doing it in my town stosa cucine and veneta cucine . I would like to the quality of the two compared to brands such as hecker and also if they are cheaper or expensive than the 10 bands you mentioned above .
    Thanks

    1. theos

      Hi Kitchenguy,
is bauformat a quality kitchen company and between this and the italians heral, lube, export which one will you propose(price/quality)……….thanks

      1. kitchenguy

Theos – these are all ‘price driven’ kitchen products. The quality is similar and I need to compare ‘apples and apples’ as they all offer different products.
        Good luck!
        kitchenguy

  8. Ankit modi

    Hey ,
Also forgot to ask , how can I find which all companies that you mentioned above are present in india . Only 2 Italian brands are in my city but a lot of them are present in India and was wondering if there is list of them that are present in india.

  9. Ankit Modi

    Hello Kitchen Guy,

Not sure if my older questions got posted because i do not see them . I live in India and was wondering if there is a way to find which all European kitch brands have presence in India. The city which i live is has only 2 brands – Stosa cucine and veneta cucine . How are they in terms of quality and how do they compare against German grands like Hecker , poggenpohl in terms of price and quality.

    Ankit

    1. kitchenguy

Ankit – we post every question. This is a hard task. You can go from one site to another and hope that they actually list the dealer in your area (if they have one). Another way is to ask design professionals in your area – they know who’s around. Stosa and Venetta are both ‘price driven’ products. They are mush lower quality than Häcker and Poggenpohl.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

      1. Dave S

Hi Kitchen Guy im currently doing a research assignment on Kitchen trade in Ireland have you any idea of the value of the exported kitchen market from Germany and where i could reference the figure from.

        1. kitchenguy

The German kitchen market exported value is EUR 350M ($437.62mn) in the first three months of 2012. This is in line, compared with the same period in 2011.
          kitchenguy

  10. lorraine

hi in terms of quality what is the difference between hacker and nobilia kichens

    1. kitchenguy

Lorraine – Nobilia is a ‘price driven’ product, while Häcker is higher end.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  11. erick

    hello kitchen guy
i would like to know, how would you rank the quality and price of valcucine, leicht and poogenpohl for the kitchen?
    thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Erick – all 3 are good brands. Valcucine has some unique designs and are using different materials, but will also be much more expensive. The 2 Germans are more or less equal, with Poggenpohl having a stronger brand name.
      Good luck!
      kitchenguy

      1. erick

thank you for your answer kitchenguy,
how about arc linea if i compare it for the quality n price with leicht n poogenpohl?
        sorry for much question 🙂

        1. kitchenguy

Erick – Arclinea is a fine product – it is up to par with both others, but offers a more cutting edge design.
          kitchenguy

  12. Magesh

    hi,
I am from india. In my town there are 2 brands scavolini and veneta. could u suggest which one is best qulaity. i am looking for hard wood long lasting life.

    thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Magesh – between these 2 brands, Scavolini has the upper hand.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  13. Magesh

i am really surprised that u have replied each and every question patiently. Nice work

      1. roisin

        hello
please could you advise which kitchen are better or are they
the same in quality: between Hacker or Schuller.
We have been given a very high quote for the Hacker and a reasonable quote for Schuller. Which one should we choose? pls.
        Many thanks.

        Roisin

        1. kitchenguy

Roisin – I personally like Häcker, better than Schüller but if the price is very different, you are probably not pricing ‘apples and apples’…
          Good luck,
          kitchenguy

        2. ruti

can you let me know where did you get a price for schuller kitchen from?
          thanks

          1. kitchenguy

Ruti – what price are you referring too…?

  14. dans

    hi kitchen guy,
if u a consumer, which one you prefer poogenpohl or hacker for the quality, price, service and brand name?

    1. kitchenguy

      Dans – this is a trick question… 🙂
Assuming that we are looking at two identical kitchens, in terms of the design, door, finish and equipment, my guess is that prices should be about the same (depending on the local dealer mark up). If that is so, than Häcker is a bit better in quality and Poggenpohl has a stronger brand name. Service is again, in part depending on the local dealer.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

Jehan – I’m really sorry, but I’m still not clear on what it is exactly that you are asking for…
My suggestion – just visit as many kitchen stores (and there are many!) that you can, while there.
          Good luck,

Nicolas – You’ve got to make it easier, if you want my help… 🙂 If I understand you correctly, you’re looking for an inexpensive ‘knock down’ product, to be sold in your shop, which is a DIY shop – please confirm, before I get into a a detailed answer.

      1. Nicolas

        That’s it kitchenguy…

          1. Nicolas

Thank you very much for your help. I wanted to know how you made your choice about Optifit because there is so much manufacturers listed on your website… What is for you the major advantages of the Optifit choice ? I also heard about EMK (http://www.emk.fr)… what do you think about it ?
Thanks a lot for your advises.
            Nicolas

          2. kitchenguy

Nicolas – I made is based on the info you gave me – you wanted a KD product, with the best value (quality to price ratio). I’m not familiar with EMK’s product and pricing – they are from The Schmidt group and supply mainly locally, in France.
            kitchenguy

  18. andrew

Hi Kitchenguy, I’ve just stumbled on your site and it seems to be exactly what I am after (some advice on the vast number of kitchen manufacturers out there).

I’m looking at replacing our kitchen after just 2 years because the last one which was put in is now falling apart. Obviously we want to avoid this so want a good quality kitchen. Question is, which would you go for? I’m thinking one of the German brands (Schuller, Hacker, Eggersmann etc). Are there any others which are definitely worth a look?
    Thanks again.

    1. kitchenguy

Andrew – there are too many to list, but the 3 you mentioned are a good start.
Are you looking for high quality? What about the price?
      kitchenguy

      1. andrew

Thanks kitchguy, I guess price would be around £15k. Although this is flexible up to a point, price is important but not at the expense of a durable kitchen. I guess we’d be looking at a mid-level kitchen.

We’ve not had anyone out for design/quotes as yet but have had some estimates via online tools and Schuller units seem reasonably priced. I’m just not sure if they will give us the durability we are after.

The other option I am considering is an ex-display kitchen, although the obvious challenge is to get one that fits. My main concern would be if the fitting, removal then re-fitting would have any effect on the units? I’ve seen a Poggenpohl ex-display locally (which we wouldn’t be able to afford brand new) and even ex-display is at the upper end of my budget. Is this a worthwhile option?

        1. kitchenguy

Andrew – these are all good options, but I think you must go and see them for yourself to decide. Online estimates are okay, for the initial step, but now you must take the second step… Also, regarding the ‘floor model sample’ – without seeing them first hand, I really can’t give you a fair opinion.
          Good luck,
          kitchenguy

          1. andrew

Thanks Kitchenguy, we’re quite lucky in that where we live (Manchester) there are quite a few dealers within a fairly short distance. So far we’ve been to see Hacker, SieMatic, Mobalpa and an independent guy (unfortunately no Eggersmann dealer outside of London by the look of it).

I really like the SieMatic kitchens, but may be a little out of our price range (which is around £15k). Although the Hacker kitchens we saw looked to be pretty close in terms of quality anyway(at least in my eyes). At the moment, it looks like the Hacker kitchen is going to get the nod.

Hacker seem to have lots of different door tpyes available, not just the colour and finish but the materials too. Can you advise on the pro’s and cons between Laminate, Acrylic & Lacquer?

            Thanks again.

          2. kitchenguy

Andrew – you are lucky you live in Manchester – great selection of kitchen brands and great football too… 🙂
All the finishes are good, but you need to decide which one is best for you. For example, if you like the look of the laminate (and some of them today look better than the real thing…), than this may be a great way to stay withing the price range you’ve set up for yourself. If you like the lacquer, but have small kids, pets, etc and are afraid it will easily scratch, than perhaps one of the other finishes are more suitable for you. I think you get the idea…
            Good luck!

    hello kitchenguy,
I think you’re right and I should give you more informations. Is it possible to contact you by email ? So that I could give you more informations about my project…

Hello Kitchenguy, I would like to know your thoughts on kitchen manufaturers in Mexico such as Quetzal and other brands you may know of. Please advise.

  21. Rentsenkhand

    Hello kitchen guy
I’m from Mongolia. I have own building materials store in Ulaanbaatar city. I’m looking for German Kitchen company. I want to be sell in Mongolia. It’s very good business. Please if give me some advise. I need cheap and good quality company.
    Thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Rentsenkhand – I need more information to give you a good advise. Are you interested in Knock Down (flat pack) or assembled cabinets. Do you need a line that will allow you to ‘step up’ to a higher end order, when needed or ‘low end all the way’? Who are you competitors (German)?
      kitchenguy

  22. Liam

    Hi Kitchenguy,

I was hoping you could give me some advice.

We are currently considering Hacker vs. Alno – which way would you go?

Also, do you know of any good (reliable, not likely to over-charge me) dealers for these two companies in London?

    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Liam – this one is easy – Haecker.
      kitchenguy

      1. Stephanie

I am considering kitchen cabinetry from Alno and Aster Cucine. The estimates are pretty close. Is there a major difference in quality? Someone also suggested Arclinea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

        1. kitchenguy

Stephanie – they are both good and about equal quality. To choose between them, factor in the dealer/designer, who will be designing, selling and installing your kitchen. Arclinea is also nice, but probably will be higher priced.
Good luck and please keep us posted,
          kitchenguy

          1. Stephanie

Thank you so much for answering me!! I appreciate it! I will keep you posted. (And, you’re right, I went into Arclinea today and they are too high for my budget). Thanks again, Stephanie

          2. kitchenguy

            You’re very welcome!
If you need any additional help, please don’t hesitate.

  23. moustique

    Hi Kitchenguy,
We are considering buying a brand new kitchen and already had an offer from Schmidt. I would like to know if Schmidt can be considered same quality as Leicht. For a fixed budget, will you recommend Schmidt or Leicht? Thanks.

    1. kitchenguy

Moustique – yes, they are similar. Chose between then, based on the designer, the dealer’s reputaion, etc.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  25. Cc

    Hi. Very good blogg.
What do you think about Scmidt verses Siematic? We live in North London and are redoing our kitchen completely. Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Cc – both are good brands. SieMatic is a bit on the higher end and Schmidt should be a slightly better value.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  26. Bstar

    Hi Kitchen guy…

glad to see so much info on your page… I wanted to ask you what you think of SieMatic kitchens. I have shortlisted Hacker and Nolte but then SieMAtic approached me and i like what they have. I need to know about quality and sustainability.

    Thanks:)

    1. kitchenguy

Bstar – SirMatic is a very good brand and have been a leader in the industry. They have been privately owned, since day one and it is the 3rd generation Siekmann (that’s the reason for the name – Siekmann + Automatic = SieMatic) that is now running the company. A bit overpriced, in my opinion, but nonetheless a good brand.
Nolte, is not in the same league – they are a price driven product.
Haecker, offers almost everything SieMatic does, at a a better price point and lots of what Nolte does, as well.
Good luck and please tell us what you ended up with,

Amazing things here. I am very satisfied to peer your post. Thanks so much and I’m looking forward to contact you. Will you kindly drop me a e-mail?

  28. jo

    Hi, Kitchen Guy.

We been looking a kitchens for a while, came across these two Störmer Küchen and pronorm, what is the difference between the two.
    Many thanks
    Jo

    1. kitchenguy

Jo – Pronorm is a bigger company, but overall they are at approx the same level. Check the designer, the showroom and the price and that should help you decide.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  29. Sarah

    Hi Kitchen Guy

On an earlier post (22nd Sept 2012) you rated Hacker better than Alno. Can you explain why? I am comparing quotes from both at the moment and can’t decide which company to go for. Is there a big quality difference or are you rating them in terms of kitchen designs?

    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Sarah – many reasons, some are too complex to get into in a few lines (sorry). Hacker is better in almost every aspect, starting from the product quality and ending with the company itself (service, stability, etc.)
      Good luck,

Dont Agree> Kitchen Guy are u related to Hacker> it seems from all your answer you end with Hacker. Technically can challenge u if you are so sound.

        1. kitchenguy

Subrata – no relation. just get many question about them, as they are one of the largest in the world and I happen to think they are very good.
Now, can you tell us who you are related to…?

  30. Nitly

Hey kitchen guy, I’ve been let down by a supplier of a hacker kitchen in the uk… Long story.. His account has been closed! … Just wanted to know your opionion on bauformat kitchens and what differences there are between hacker and them… Am I expecting too much ? The only thing is I don’t seem to find many stockists of bauformat in the Uk.. Any help is appreciated .

    1. kitchenguy

Nitly – Bauformat is several levels under Hacker…
      kitchenguy

  31. Nitly

Hi kitchen guy, what are your thoughts about Bauformat kitchens?

    1. kitchenguy

Nitly – it is a price-driven produact and they do it well!
      kitchenguy

  32. Lara

I wish I could have asked some questions here before making a decision; one of them would have been:” is there some sort of difference between buying a kitchen from one of the BIG manufacturers and smaller ones?”.
I have bought a kitchen from LUBE, an italian company with a showroom in London (casalube.com), and I am really happy with the service I’ve been given and the quality of the product. So far everything is good and they’ve assured me that the guarantee scheme is good but maybe a bigger company can be faster in changing, replacing or fixing if something goes wrong?

    1. kitchenguy

Lara – there are way too manu variables in selecting a product – size of the company should not be one of the top decision making factors.
      Good luck!

Nobilia,Nolte and Veneta.which one do u recommand? I am looking for a quality product.Pl advice

    1. kitchenguy

Ashok – all 3 are about the same quality and porice. Go with the better designer.
      Good luck,

  34. Xandra

    Hi kitchenguy,

How would you compare Schuller (Nextline/ 125)to Hacker, in terms or price and quality ?
While more than 80% of kitchens sold in Germany seem to be around €8-10K (according to the rep of a large kitchen store in Germany), I got a quote for a Next medium size kitchen for around €25K which I find quite expensive… While I dont want to give up quality, I find it to be just correct. The quote includes all Siemens appliances.
I live in Luxembourg so Germany is just next door.

    Thanks for your feedback,
    Xandra

    1. kitchenguy

Xandra – not enough info to answer your question… Which model from Haecker? Kitchens are priced by many factors, one is their size…
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  35. Emma

    Hi there,
I have recently purchased a house which is need of renovation. I would like a “wow” kitchen to make it easier to sell on quickly! I am being quoted approx 16k for a rational kitchen, can you give me some confidence that this is good value for money or is it worth looking at some cheaper brands?
    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Emma – I really don’t have enough info to make an educated comment…
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  36. ruti

    hi
    please help!!!
i wanted hacker but is so expensive
i want to ask you about rotpunkt and bravo: what is beeter? are they same lavel like b&q or ikea here in uk or higher standart?

    1. kitchenguy

Ruti – Bravo and Rotpunkt are nicer than Ikea. Not familiar with b&q…
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

      1. ruti

thank you very much for found time to help me
what’s better bravo or rotpunkt? its much far less than hacker or schuller?

        1. kitchenguy

Ruti – I like Bravo better. It should be 20%-50% less.
          kitchenguy

          1. Shirley Smith

You mention Bravo – do you mean the London based showroom in NW 10 that sell Pedini kitchens? If yes, are they going to be better value than Schuller or Nobilia?

PS You are an amazing guy to share your knowledge and experience – thank you!

          2. kitchenguy

Shirley – not sure when i mentioned Bravo, but to your question – yes, I belive you are going to get a better value with Pedini, especially if you’re looking for something more interesting than Schuller’s or Nobilia’s standard looks.
Good luck and thanks for the kind words!
            kitchenguy

  37. Daniel

    Hi kitchen guy,
Poggenpohl, hacker and rational are expensive brands.
What are the superiorities of them comparing with other european products which offer cheaper prices?
Is it just because of the brand?
    Thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Daniel – the branding is only a samll portion of the prrice difference. You usually also have R&D, which translateds into more unique product and designs, as well as higher quality materials, better service and warranty and by default, better designers and dealers handeling these brands.
I hope this answert your question.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  38. Daniel

    Thank you for your answer,
But me as a customer still dont get it about “higher quality materials” thing, because some of the cheaper brands were offering the same materials too, could you be more specific about this please? Thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Daniel – here are a few examples:
      – All European cabinets are on adjustable legs – some are steel, some are cheaper plastic…
      – The better products have a ‘dust seal’, which is a rubber gasket, around door and drawing openings – the cheaper ones don’t.
      – Aluminum toe kick, vs. plastic one.
      I think you’re getting the idea…
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  39. Anthi

    Hi kitchen guy,
When you refer to a brand eg: Nobillia being ‘price driven’,does that mean that the quality is not the prime factor therefore brands such as Hacker or Schuller are much better quality although more expensive?
We are planning a new kitchen,German manufactured hopefully ( mid to top end),but want to be sure we are spending our money on a brand which is worth it in terms of quality . The design & layout of new kitchen will be more or less the same with whichever brand we choose. Any advise would be truly appreciated.

    1. kitchenguy

Anthi – ‘Price driven’ means that price is the top priority for that company. They are aggressively price and it usually comes at the expense of quality and/or service. So in this case, Häcker and Schüller are building a better product and/or are offering better service. If the difference between the products is not important to you (you need to ask the resellers to point them out to you) than the cheaper one will do.
Good luck and please keep us posted.
      kitchenguy

      1. Anthi

        Hi kitchen guy
Many thanks for your previous advice. We received a quote for a Schuller handleless Nextline kitchen which we are considering but feel we need to consider more options before we commit.
In your opinion how do Schmidt compare. Is it of better qualty or about the same? Again your advice would be appreciated.

        1. kitchenguy

          Anthi – about the same.
          Good luck!
          kitchenguy

  40. John

Can u tell me how u rate effequatro . I would like to become a dealer in Ireland. Great site by the way

    1. kitchenguy

John – it is a nice product that is somewhat limited, in terms of product selection. I’m also not familiar with their pricing, enough to convey an opinion, as far as marketability, etc.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

      1. John

Thanks for your reply, maby u could recommend a manufacturer to import to Ireland ,all the usual names have agents here so someone lesser known could work .would like to become a dealer in the mid range regarding price, what is your opinion of veneta cucine and composit in Italy.thanks

        1. kitchenguy

John – Veneta is a ‘price driven’ product. They are very aggressively priced, but as always, it comes at the expense of other things (quality and service), which could be a bigger issue, when imported, than when sold domestically. Composit is a better quality product, but will be more expensive and I still can’t tell you about their service (especially for export, in Ireland) – unfortunately, that research you’ll have to do on your own.
          Good luck!
          kitchenguy

  41. James

    Hi Kitchenguy,

I’ve done some research, had my kitchen designed and got quotes from 3 different suppliers, like for like. At the moment i’ve approached Hacker, ProNorm Y-Line, and ROT PUNKT. I’ve got the quotes to just over £6k to supply just the furniture. The issue I have is that all of them claim their kitchens are the best product, which doesn’t come as any great surprise. I’d like some unbiased advice, if I get them to offer the kitchen’s for the exactly the same price which would you recommend? j

    1. kitchenguy

James – that’s an easy one. Between these 3, Häcker is a much better choice! I’ll be surprized though, if they all come at the same price…
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  42. Muhammad Ahmed

Can u tell me which of the comapnies having offices at Karachi-Pakistan and thier address & contact persons and prceing with quality.

    1. kitchenguy

Muhammad – unfortunately, we do not have this info handy, on each and every country in the world and that will require very extensive reasearch, that will be very time consuming – try just doing an online search , or ask local architects.
      Good luck!

  43. Ken

    Hi Kitchen Guy,

This is a fantastic website with lots of information regarding kitchen companies. Do you have any information regarding an Italian kitchen company called SICC Kitchens? I have been to their showroom in north london which is excellent and the quality seems very good; but I cant find any reviews regarding quality or experience of other customers or where they rank in terms of competitors. Do you have this info?

    1. kitchenguy

Ken – SICC is a nice product, of good quality, that ranks among midium-to-higher quality Italian producers.
      kitchenguy

  44. Melanie

Hi Kitchen Guy. We need to buy a kitchen as part of a wider renovation product – price is therefore key, however I have seen a few Schuller kitchens and love the flexibility with cabinets height, storage options, sturdiness etc. as well as the looks. However, the one dealer I have spoken to claims they cannot supply even the most basic of Schuller kitchens (Nova range) for less than £16K, and this would only include one appliance. Does this sound right or could you recommend an alternative stockist? We are in the SE (Surrey). Thank you! Melanie

    1. kitchenguy

Melanie – it is very hard to convey an opinion, without seeing the kitchen size and layout, but £16K doesn’t sound far-fetched… My suggestion is to visit another dealer of similar or lower cost product, for comparison.
      Good luck!
      kitchenguy

  45. Fiona

Which quality of Hacker kitchen door should I buy…..Is the best quality..emotion then systemat then classic? If this is correct what is the difference?

    1. kitchenguy

Fiona – the quality is the same throughout the line. The price difference is a result of the cost of material, labor ans the amount of options/customization that is offered.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

      1. Fiona

Many thanks, great forum. You have helped a lot. Ready to buy now, I think.

        1. kitchenguy

You’re very welcome, Fiona. Please update us.
          Thanks,
          kitchenguy

  46. Kate

    Hi,

I’m looking for a mid-range kitchen and would like some help to find a good quality brand. I’ve fallen in love with a eggersmann kitchen – does anyone have experience of this brand? I want to make sure it lasts as well as looks good. Any similar brands I could take a look at? I saw a Snaidero online which looked v nice? Had an embarrassing moment in Siematic this weekend where the kitchen I was happily specifying was double my budget, do not want to repeat! Finally anyone with experiencevon thevwolf range cooker – worth the money? Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Kate – if you didn’t like the price at SieMatic, you’ll be disappointed at Eggersmann as well… These brands are sometimes very high priced (dealers that are marking it up too high…).
In order to help you locate a similar product, please tell us the look and finish you’re after and where in the world are you located at.

  47. PATINA

I need to fit a basic/mid range kitchen in my apartment in Como,Italy.
Can you please advise where I can find someone to install and where to purchase.

    Many thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Patine – you are in ‘Kitchen Country’! If you can’t find someone in Italy, I don’t know where else to advise you to look… 🙂

  48. Anthony ezenagu

    Hi.
I want to start up a business of kitchen designing and instalation in Nigeria. What brands and type of kitchen would you recommend that is high quality, fairly reasonable price and durable suitable for upper class of the society in nigeria.
Secondly what brands would u also recommend that would be affordable for an average middle class earner in Nigeria. Somethin good quality and cheap.
Finally what advise would you give someone entering into this biz as an amateur.
    Kind regards
    Anthony

    1. kitchenguy

Anthony – le’s start from the last question. If you are an amatour, as you claim – find another business vanture… This is a tough business and lots of experience is needed, to establish a start up kitchen business in a new country…

I’m an architect with a experience in construction. I have a strategy in place before I set up a show room. I have being really attracted to Schuller products and brand, are there other brands within this range you may recommend preferably with a lower price tag? Thanks for your reply
        anthony

        1. kitchenguy

Anthony – in order to respond (integently), I need much more information:
          a) where are you located?
          b) what does “this range” means? In terms of door styles?
          c) “lower price tag” can be at many levels – how low?
          kitchenguy

          1. anthony

I’m currently living in London hoping to relocate to Nigeria in the coming year. I’m proposing to open a showroom where i could sell different kitchens to the Nigerian market. I like the schuller range of kitchens, what other brands of kitchen would you recommend that is comparable schuller but cheaper?

          2. kitchenguy

Anthony – take a look at Alno, Bauformat or Nolte. They have the least expensive cabinets and are somewhat simila.
            kitchenguy

  49. vanessa

Hi i live in london. I have had a quote from a kitchen company – 18K for nolte and 12K for hacker for the same kitchen design and similar units. Is it worth paying more for nolte? Which brand has better quality units. Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Vanessa – I’m suspecting you are not comparing apples to apples… Haecker should not cost less than Nolte, unless it is not the same door/design, etc.
      kitchenguy

  50. Brian

Hi Kitchenguy and thank you for such a great site. I’m going to order a new kitchen and have seen Nobilia, Bernloni, Miton, Stosa, GeD arredamentia and Del Tongo. Do you mind putting them in order of quality. I’m after a brand that does long lasting kitchens. Thanks in advance

    1. kitchenguy

Brian – they are very similar. Focus on the dealer (service, design ability, etc.) – it is far more importent than the small differences between the brands.
      kitchenguy
