Europeans have been producing kitchens, in factories (vs. carpenter’s shops) for about 100 years now.

The countries that have the largest amount of kitchen brands are: Italy and Germany. They probably produce about 90% of the kitchens sold in Europe. They also are the largest exporters of kitchens outside of Europe.

You will also find some large kitchen factories in England, France, Denmark, Sweden, Spain and other European countries.

On the right side of the page are the European kitchen companies, by country. If you know a kitchen company, that is not listed, please contact us and will gladly add it.

Hi – I’m looking at Poggenpohl, SieMatic and Dada, am still a bit far from getting pricing from a rep, and just wanted to make sure all are similar price points. Could you comment on quality and cost? Any similarly-priced brands you recommend above these? Thanks very much!

    1. kitchenguy

Zach – You’ll probably find they are all more or less at the same ball park.
Not sure where you are located, for recommendations.

Hi, we are from India and planning for a modular kitchen for our new home. We are confused between Alno and Veneta cucine, in terms of quality. Any suggestions on the better one? Any other good brand, if you can suggest? Thanks!

  3. Adriana Kozlov

I live in Aruba and have limited choice of kitchens: Alno, Venetta Cucuine, Berloni.
Can you please rank these by quality- to give me some guidance.

    1. kitchenguy

Adriana Kozlov – Alno is better than the other two.

    Hi,
I’m looking for comparison of Euromobil between Salvarani, Composit and Arrital. Trying to understand the level of Euromobil in general, as never saw their kitchens.

    Thank you for your comments!

    1. kitchenguy

Vahe – they are better than the other 3.
      kitchenguy

      1. Vahe

        Thank you for comment!
I’ve thought that Salvarani similar to Poggenpohl and Boffi, Composit a bit lower and Arrital a bit lower. Does it mean that Euromobil kind of hi-end?

        1. kitchenguy

Vahe – they are not at the same level, at all… Euromobil is like Poggenpohl.
          kitchenguy

  6. Lil

Hi, I’m looking for advise, What kitchen is better Arrital or Miton? Thanks for your advise!

    1. kitchenguy

Lil – about the same – go with the designer/dealer you like better.

  7. Vahe

    Hi again,
I’ve just find out one more interested kitchen manufacturer – Spagnol
Could you please compare it again with Arrital, Composit and Salvarani

    Thank you!

    1. kitchenguy

Vahe – Spagnol is a group, manufacturing furniture, office furniture, as well as kitchens. They are a price-point product, lower than the other 3.
      kitchenguy

  8. Vahe

    Regarding the Lil question:
As I know Arrital is more advanced with finishes variety (for example – fenix, micro cement, paperstone) comparing to Miton. Am I right?

  9. Pauline

Would be grateful for some advice as I am choosing between a Hacker (Classic) or Rotpunkt kitchen. Which is better?

    Thanks.

  10. yuleika

Dear Kitchenguy. You are the light at the end of the tunnel. Just started kitchen design process and completely overwhelmed. I live in Chicago and considering the following manufacturers, except I have no idea how the differ from one another. Could you guide me on ranking them on quality and price?
    Poggenpohl
    Bulthaup
    Leicht
    Poliform
    Arrital
    Ernesto Meda
    Snadeiro
    Arclinea
    Siematic
    Boffi

    Thanks a lot!

    1. kitchenguy

yuleika – glad I could be the light (hopefully an LED :))…
From your list, Bulthaup, and Boffi at the top (price wise as well), Poggenpohl, Poliform, Snaidero, Arclinea and SieMatic are second. Leicht, Ernestomead & Arrital in the 3rd group.

Many thanks – I appreciate your response.

  12. Jacob

    Hello again kitchenguy,

What do you think of Eggersmann kitchens quality? Their showroom is under construction and supplier claims that the brand is in the same quality level as Bulthaup.

Where do you rank Eggersmann in terms of quality/price ratio vs Bulthaup, Siematic, Hacker, and Alno?

For a kitchen that will use mostly white exterior cabinets, will you recommend something like Bulthaup using laminate finish or Alno with lacquer finish?

I’m guessing price between the two might be close since it’s comparing a “higher” brand using less expensive finish vs a “less premium” brand using more expensive finish.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Jacob – Eggersman is a fine product. I would go as far as comparing them to Bulthaup because a) they are not quite as good and b) they are a different kind of product. But they are close.
They are probably more like SieMatic and haecker’s higher end line. Alno is a couple of steps down.
I’ll take Bulthaup using laminate finish over Alno with lacquer finish.
      kitchenguy

      1. Jacob

        Thanks again!

  13. kinni desai

    Hi kitchenguy!
We’re building a modern home in Houston, TX. We’re entertaining Poggenpohl and Eggersmann as they both have showrooms here. We like a few options at each place and are in the process of obtaining quotes. How do you compare these 2 brands? Would you suggest also looking at Pedini? They have a showroom in Houston but we haven’t seen it because our designer favors German cabinets (esp Eggersmann). Thank you for your help!

    1. kitchenguy

kinni desai – all 3 are great products and are high quality. I think you’ll find a difference in pricing though. As far as Pedini’s concerned – they are using the same brand and/or quality hardware (drawers hinges, etc.) as the other two. The doors & drawers, are made by the same suppliers and the machines they all use is identical. So, as you can see, these days, there is no difference between Italian and German kitchens, as long as they are of the same level, which these are.
      My suggestion – visit Pedini.

  14. Nick

    Hi,

How is the quality of Bauformat kitchens?
How does it rate compared to other kitchens in the same price group?

How does it compare to slightly more expensive brands like Häckler, Nolte and Störmer, or even Leicht – both price wise and quality wise.
Is the extra price justified by the improved quality?
And if so, how does the extra quality show in the product?

If I am on a budget, what would be the brand of choice I should go for?

    1. kitchenguy

Nick – lots of questions… Here are the answers:
How is the quality of Bauformat kitchens? Low-medium. Its a price driven product.
How does it rate compared to other kitchens in the same price group? Similar.
How does it compare to slightly more expensive brands like Häckler, Nolte and Störmer, or even Leicht – both price wise and quality wise. They are better.
Is the extra price justified by the improved quality? Yes.
And if so, how does the extra quality show in the product? Many ways – both in terms of the products specs, as well as the way it’s put together, all the way to service and after-care.
      kitchenguy

If I am on a budget, what would be the brand of choice I should go for?

  15. Ed

    1. Sachsen Kuchen

Ed – they are similar. Focus on the designer and the dealership – they are just as importent!

  16. James Barbour

    Hi Kitchen guy,
We are having a tough time deciding on which kitchen. We have seen Leicht in a very glitzy showroom.it looks great but is expensive. We have seen Neptune and Nobilia in a less flashy setting and they are cheaper but we are not sure about the quality. Any views welcome?
Also we have the potential to source appliances and work tops separately at favourable rates but are worried we end up with too many tradesmen and no accountability.thoughts on that also welcome.
Thanks a lot for any help you can give.
    James

    1. kitchenguy

James Barbour – Leicht is a better product, so its not just the showroom…
Not sure how they would work with your appliances, so I cant comment on that.

  17. Lyn Badish

    Hi kitchenguy
Your website is such a great resource – we are trying to design our kitchen (and i am limited by my my budget unfortunately). I am trying to decide between Leicht, Rational, and Euromobil. Any brand preference? The quotes I am seeing for Rational and Euromobil are far less than Leicht, but it might be because there is no flashy showroom…or there is a significant quality difference. Would love your opinion.
    Lyn

    1. kitchenguy

Lyn Badish – based on what you wrote, i would go with Euromobil

  18. Radhika Aggarwal

How would you rate Arrital v/s Scavolini.
Also please suggest on KH kitchens from Germany

    1. kitchenguy

      Not familiar with KH
      kitchenguy

    1. kitchenguy

KD – thanks for sharing this post. Glad I could help!
Ballerina is a less known brand , than the other 3, but even they are not equal. Not in terms of design, quality and/or price.
What exactly is your question? I want to make sure I give you the correct answer.
      Thanks,
      kitchenguy

  19. Charlie

Hi Kitchen Guy- I just found your blog, very enlightening!
I am deciding between a Boffi and Dada kitchen. Dada is just opening a showroom in Toronto and I am unfamiliar with there product. Their pricing is very good relative to Boffi. How about quality?
    Any thoughts on Scavolini?
    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Charlie – Boffi is better. Scavolini is 5 levels down…

Hi, I am from Malta, Europe and I am looking at kitchens. Which do you think is best between Veneta Cucine and Miton Cucine.
From here the prices are relatively the same. I am asking regarding quality of the kitchens.

    1. kitchenguy

JM – they are similar in quality too, but Miton has a slight edge.

  21. Ann Lennef

    Hi there,

I am considering two kitchen brands at the moment, one Italian / Arrital Cucine and the other German / Nobila.

Can you rate them in terms of quality please, which would you consider has the better quality and finish, in terms of price point they are similar.

    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Ann Lennef – I’d go with Arrital. A much smaller company, but with a better product.

  23. Confused

This website has been a great resource and has helped us immensely in narrowing down our options. Weve managed to narrow the brands down to 2 German companies – Hacker and Schuller and 1 Italian – Meson’s. I do like Meson’s but I can hardly find any info on them. Anyone have any experience with them ? How do they compare to Hacker’s Systemat or Schuller’s Next ranges ?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
    Many thanks in advance

  24. Pinar

    Hi Kitchenguy from Istanbul,

I am trying to decide on a demi classic kitchen. Scavollini or Nolte? Regardless of price, which one is better made and offers better mechanisms. Both designs look similar, Nolte being simpler. Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Pinar – what is “a demi classic kitchen” – never heard thsi term before…
      kitchenguy

      1. Pinar

By demi classic I meant semi classic. Not modern but not country type… Nolte Windsor Lack model for instance. Which brand would you prefer Nolte or Scavolini? Regardless of price. Thanks!

        1. kitchenguy

Pinar – both are very similar.
Choose based on the people (designer/dealer).
          kitchenguy

  25. Hazel

  27. Jay

    1. kitchenguy

  28. Harry

    Hi Kitchenguy,
How do you feel about Alno kitchens in terms of quality, durability, materials used and craftsmanship. Is it true that the company is under financial pressure?
    Thank for all your information!

    Best Regards,
    Harry

    1. kitchenguy

Harry – product is ok. Company was in finacial trouble in recent years, but I think they are getting out of it now, after a major restrcturing.

    Hi,

What’s the best moderate priced cabinetry to sell in US market?

    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

saj – this is a very open-end question… It will take a few pages of writting to answer it, especially since “best” is a very tricky term…

  31. Cynthia

What do you think of Leicht vs Siematic cabinets for quality and price, or is there another one that is as nice without such high pricing?

    1. kitchenguy

Cynthia – SieMatic is better. Many brands can be as nice – where are yo located?

  32. Roy

Hello, I just had a design session at a Lube showroom. I was very happy with how much time and attention the designer gave me. I’ve read you refer to this brand many times as “value driven” but most of those comments are at least two years old. I’m wondering if they’ve upped their game at all because to my untrained eye, it looked very good. I am considering a mix of their lacquer and acrylic cabinets.

I know there are higher end and more expensive brands out there. But from a practical standpoint what would I be sacrificing with Lube? What matters most is getting cabinets that will stand the test of time. Then getting a kitchen that I love for the right price. I can live without the tiny details that make one brand better than the other so long as it looks great, will be durable and fits the budget.

    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Roy – they are still a ‘price driven’ product. The way they do it is by lowering cost of production – do the math…
      kitchenguy

      1. Roy

What I’m trying to figure out is what I’m sacrificing by going with Lube, or Astra, which I also got a good quote on.

I understand that they are lowering cost of production. But I don’t know what that substantively means. Will longevity/durability be compromised? Or will I be missing out on more trivial things like a level of smoothness that is almost imperceptible?

As I said, to me they look fantastic. Not sure what the advantage of paying double for cabinets would be. I’d appreciate it if you could elaborate a little bit.

        Thanks again.

        1. kitchenguy

Roy – here are some of the things that are different:
          – Design: “price driven’ companies offer very generic design options.
          – Tecnology: “price driven’ companies will offer ‘older’ technology, not ‘the latest and graetest’.
          – Service: they usually have a more limited warranty and will not ‘go the extra mile’ to service their product (going there, costs money…).
          – People: the dealers that sell “price driven’ companies, are usually interested in volume of sales, not design, attention to details, etc.
          kitchenguy

          1. Roy

Thank you, that was very helpful!

I’m curious how you would rate Lube vs Astra vs Bauformat???

I want to say that when it comes to the people part, USUALLY should be emphasized. The people in this showroom were exceptional. The designer was beyond helpful and spent the entire afternoon with me tweaking the design on the computer. What she came up with was more creative and unique than the more expensive showrooms that didn’t try nearly as hard to knock my socks off. They seemed more cookie cutter. And the Lube showroom never asked me for a deposit or retainer.

I think in some cases the designers in higher end shops can be complacent and rely on the name to sell the product. In this case I feel like the designer was eager to overcome any possible biases I might have against using a cheaper brand.

I don’t know if this will carry over into service but the Yelp reviews for this company are all very positive so I am optimistic that if I buy this kitchen I will be taken care of.

          2. kitchenguy

Roy – all 3 are all more-or-less the same.
You sound very happy with those people – go with them?
            kitchenguy

  37. JS

    Hi,
How would you rate Allmilmo and Schiffini compared to Bulthaup?
    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

JS – Allmilmoe is a product that hasn’t changed much in ages… – Good quality, but boaring and overpriced. Schiffini is much more in line with Bulthaup.
      kitchenguy

  38. Foso

Can you rate in terms of quality, Arrital, Scavolini and Aran? Thanks!

  39. Bea

    Hi Kitchenguy

  40. Luciano

Hi Kitchenguy!!! Congratulations for your site, it is very good!!
I live in Mexico and need to decide between a Varenna or a Leicht kitchen. Varenna is about 45% more expensive than Leicht.
For sure Varenna design is more beautiful, but I am not sure about if its quality is really better than Leicht.
Can you give me some advice? THANKS

    1. kitchenguy

Luciano – if you are comparing ‘apples and apples’ the price shouldn’t be that much more…
      kitchenguy

  41. Jacob

Hello! May I know what you think of Stormer kitchens?

How would you rank Stormer vs Hacker vs Alno in terms of overall quality?

Also, how would you rank the 3 brands in terms of pricing assuming finishing material/cabinet dimensions are the same?

    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Jacob – they are very similar. Alno and Haecker will probably be a bit cheaper than Stoermer.
      kitchenguy

      1. Jacob

        Thanks kitchenguy!

Finally decided with Stormer as I actually got the best deal with them in terms of price and included features.

        Thanks!

        1. kitchenguy

Good luck! Please keep us posted.
          kitchenguy

  42. Linda

    Hi Kitchenguy,

Trying to decide between Nolte (offered by the builder and I know nothing about this brand) vs choosing my own through Siematic. Which brand is superior? What do you think of the Nolte brand?

    L

    1. kitchenguy

Linda – hndas down SieMatic! Nolte is a ‘price driven’ product…
      kitchenguy

  43. Saj

Which one is better Leicht, Cesar or Zyeko?

    Thanks!

  44. Nene

hi there! how would you rate the following in terms of quality:

    Scavolini
    Aran
    Miton

    thanks in advance!

Nene – more or lessthe same, with Scavolini having a slight edge.
      kitchenguy

  45. Saj

    Thanks!

  46. Simon

    Hi

My wife and I are at war over the new kitchen. We are currently looking at the Schuller and Leicht ranges. Would you be able to recommend a brand?

Thanks in advance. All jolly interesting.

    Thanks
    Simon

    1. kitchenguy

      Simon – war…? Why?
      Where are you located?
      kitchenguy

  47. Simon

We are in Milton Keynes. Apart from the make the difficulty is on the style of the kitchen. Is there any noticeable differences in quality between the two? My assumption is that colours and styles won’t be that different.

    1. kitchenguy

      Simon – not a big difference…
      kitchenguy

  48. Eva

    Hi Kitchenguy,

I am in Greece looking to change my kitchen. The options that i have in my city are Arredo3, Scavolini and HOF.

Could you please help me as far as the quality of them is concerned?

I really like the Arredo3 design but I am not sure about the quality cause there is a rumor here that they actually come from China, not Italy.

    I would appreciate the help!

    Thankssss!!

    1. kitchenguy

Eva – not familiar with HOF (Greek brand), but out of the other two i’d take Scavolini. Arredo3 is not a bad brand and they are not producing in China, but they are using lesser quality hardware and less flixible on the design/sizes, etc.

  49. Krisstina Wise

    Hi Kitchen Guy,

    Great site!

I live in Austin, Texas and will be in Italy for holiday in the next couple of weeks. I am wondering if it would be less expensive to buy my kitchen cabinets in Italy while I am there? I have the design complete — just need to select/purchase the cabinets. And, choose a cabinet maker of course.

    1. kitchenguy

Krisstina Wise – bad idea… Who’s going to ship it it, install it, be responsible for the measurements and design and how are you going to ship parts, in case you need them…? Ms. Wise – don’t be Penny Wise and Pound Foolish… 🙂
